May 18, 2014 – Greenbrier Challenge MTB Race a Qualifier for MTB Nationals in PA
This 11th annual USA Cycling-affiliated AMBC event is the largest mountain bike race in the Mid-Atlantic Region, with several opportunities for all levels of racers, from Beginners to Pros. There will be 56 different starting groups during the day, with over $10,000 in cash and prizes awarded at the podium ceremonies. This year it is a race that qualifies riders to go to the National Championships in near-by PA. It also includes, the single-race Mid Atlantic Regional Championship (MARC), the Maryland State Championships, a Junior National race for 18 yr olds and under, a Marathon race, a Kids race, and is a race in the Mid-Atlantic Super Series (MASS) for the second time. See www.potomacvelo.com for details. The Hagerstown and Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau is the title sponsor. Potomac Velo Club puts on the race for the benefit of the racers and for Trails for Youth Charity, and added volunteer workers are always welcome to make it all happen.
