LAXCON – US Lacrosse Convention: January 19-21, 2018 at the Baltimore Convention Center
The US Lacrosse Convention offers dozens of educational clinics for coaches, officials and organizational leaders, many of which conducted by the best in the sport today. Also take advantage of innumerable networking opportunities that will help you further develop your lacrosse IQ and contacts.
Baltimore Women’s Sabre World Cup: March 26-28, 2018 at the Baltimore Convention Center
Olympic and World medalists headlined a field of 170 competitors this past March as Team USA took on athletes from nearly 30 nations at the Baltimore Women’s Sabre World Cup. Eleven U.S. fencers advanced to the second day at the World Cup.
2018 NHL Stadium Series – Capitals vs. Maple Leafs: March 3, 2018 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium
On Saturday, March 3rd at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, the Caps’ stars came to play under the stars. Washington’s top talents shone brightly, leading the way to a 5-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2018 Stadium Series contest between the two clubs. The football stadium was converted to an ice hockey rink for the two professional teams to compete.
USATF Masters Indoor Track and Field Championships: March 16-18, 2018 at Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex
U.S. Masters competitors demonstrated athletic excellence and inspiring determination this year at Prince George’s County Sports & Learning Center, as more national titles and records were clinched on the final day of USATF Masters Indoor Championships. A total of fourteen pending world age group records were set throughout the three-day meet.
Maryland Sports Spelling Bee: March 17, 2018 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium
Annapolis-area homeschooler wins inaugural event, marking the 3rd time she has qualified for the Scripps National Spelling Bee in National Harbor; Homestead/Wakefield Elementary School’s Jaya Parsa is the Runner Up.
Beachfest Volleyball Festival: May 12-13, 2018 at Ocean City, MD and Surrounding Areas
This tournament originated in Ocean City, MD with 40 teams and has exploded in popularity over the past three years growing to over 200 teams in 2017!! Expanding to Salisbury and Snow Hill to accommodate the popularity, they try and keep our Ocean City roots in mind as they plan for this event each year. Having an AM and PM wave is one of the great accommodations provided to allow each team to get their time in the All-American City!
Preakness 143: May 19, 2018 at Pimlico Racecourse
Known to many as “The Second Jewel of the Triple Crown”, the Preakness Stakes will celebrate its 143rd Annual thoroughbred race this year.
Youth Baseball Nationals: June 29-July 5, 2018 at Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex
The Youth Baseball Nationals is the premier youth baseball travel tournament in the nation. The Nationals is a week-long national tournament for 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U and 14U baseball teams, played at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex in Salisbury, MD, just 30 minutes from Ocean City.
Under Armour All-America Lacrosse: June 30, 2018 at Johns Hopkins University
The 13th annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Games are gearing up for another exciting event set to take place the weekend of June 30th at Johns Hopkins University’s Homewood Field. The best-of-the-best high school lacrosse players will earn the sports’ most prestigious honor as an Under Armour All-American.
USSSA Eastern National Championships: July 11-28, 2018 at Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex & Nearby Facilities
The USSSA Eastern National Championships have taken place along the Eastern Shore regions for several years, growing in capacity with gorgeous facilities and fun events for all!
Bassmaster Elite At Upper Chespeake Bay: July 26-29, 2018 in Harford County
Over 100 of the best bass anglers will compete for the $100,000 first place prize and the coveted top points in the Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year standings. The four-day tournament will be packed full of action, competition and fun for the whole family to enjoy. Anglers will hit the water each day at the beautiful Flying Point Park waterfront, followed by intense daily weigh-ins and FREE family-fun activities held at the park and Ripken Stadium.
USA Cycling 2018 Amateur Road National Championships: July 26-29, 2018 in Hagerstown
“We are excited to have our 2018 and 2019 Amateur Road National Championships in Hagerstown, within driving distance for many members of our road cycling community,” said Chuck Hodge, USA Cycling Vice President of Operations. “This picturesque part of Maryland should present our athletes with challenging courses worthy of the National Championships.”
Star Worlds Championships: October 5-15, 2018 at Tred Avon Yacht Club
The 2018 event will be spectacular with outstanding sailing in a fun and social venue, hosted by an experienced racing club. You have much to look forward to: Member Provided Housing for 50+ Crews, Dry Sailing Every Race Day, 4 Evening Dinner Events Featuring Off-site Venues and Chesapeake Bay Cuisine, Daily Breakfast and After Racing Beer and House Made Snacks and much more!
Dutta Corp Fair Hill International CCI 2* and 3*: October 18-21, 2018 at Fair Hill NRMA
The Dutta Corp FHI CCI** and CCI*** events are, essentially, two separate three-day eventing competitions. The CCI 3* riders jump slightly larger fences and have a more challenging dressage test. The CCI 2* event is designed to qualify horses and riders for 3* competitions. The CCI 3* event is one of only four 3* events in the USA. Horses and riders who do well in the 3* event may qualify to compete internationally or at the Olympics or World Championships.
Baltimore Running Festival: October 20, 2018 in Baltimore City
Make sure to sign up for the event that many are calling one of the best races on the East Coast, NOW FINISHING AT THE INNER HARBOR!! With five distances to choose from, and all runners snagging a great Under Armour shirt for participating, this event is for you! You won’t want to miss the 17th Baltimore Running Festival!
Governor’s Challenge: December 26-29, 2018 at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center
The Governor’s Challenge Basketball Tournament held in Salisbury, Maryland has grown to be the largest holiday basketball tournament in the country. In its 38th year, the Governor’s Challenge will bring 120 teams to the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center and its surrounding high schools.
