Located just south of Baltimore and Washington, D.C., race enthusiasts can find their weekend entertainment at the Mayland International Raceway, the State’s largest motorsports facility.Maryland International Raceway, the largest motorsports facility in the State of Maryland, features the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Championship Drag Racing, the Haltech World Cup Finals and other thrilling events that are fun for the whole family. On top of tournaments and races of this capacity, MDIR hosts over 100 events every season, with races Friday through Sunday during the March to November months.

The World Cup Finals, held during the first weekend in November annually, bring in roughly 30,000 fans during the event to the Maryland International Raceway from over 13 different countries, and the Bike Fest during the end of July brings in over 700 athletes competing in the weekend race, with other attractions such as a bike show, live music and several vendors.

The facility dates its history back to 1966, when Joe LaRoque first built the venue. Maryland International Raceway has gone through a number of facelifts – and there are currently plans for additional improvements underway. The track’s appearance has changed dramatically over the years, and a lot of work has been done to make it the facility that it is today.

Rick Lindner, Director of Marketing and PR for the Maryland International Raceway, stated, “MDIR has been a staple of entertainment in Southern Maryland for 40+ years and has provided exciting and safe entertainment for the whole family, supporting all of Maryland as well as the surrounding Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern region.”
