The following examples are intended to illustrate how eligibility will be determined during the FY27 transition period.

Example 1: Event Occurs Before Portal Opening

  • Notice of Intent Submitted: June 20
  • Portal Opens: July 15
  • Event Date: July 10
  • Full Application Submitted: July 20

Result

The event remains eligible because a Notice of Intent was submitted before the event occurred.


Example 2: Event Occurs Shortly After Portal Opening

  • Notice of Intent Submitted: July 1
  • Portal Opens: July 15
  • Full Application Submitted: July 18
  • Event Date: July 25

Result

The event remains eligible because a Notice of Intent was submitted before the event occurred and a full application was submitted after the portal opened.


Example 3: Event Occurs During the Application Period

  • Portal Opens: July 15
  • Application Submitted: July 20
  • Event Date: August 15

Result

The event remains eligible because the application was submitted before the event occurred.

A Notice of Intent is not required.


Example 4: Event Occurs While Applications Are Under Review

  • Portal Opens: July 15
  • Application Submitted: August 1
  • Event Date: September 10
  • Award Decision: October 15

Result

The event remains eligible because the application was submitted before the event occurred.

A funding decision is not required prior to the event taking place.


Example 5: Event Receives a Funding Decision Before the Event

  • Portal Opens: July 15
  • Application Submitted: August 1
  • Award Decision: October 15
  • Event Date: November 20

Result

The event remains eligible and receives a funding decision before the event occurs.


Example 6: Event Occurs Before Notice of Intent or Application Submission

  • Event Date: July 10
  • Notice of Intent Submitted: July 15
  • Application Submitted: July 20

Result

The event is not eligible because neither a Notice of Intent nor an application was submitted before the event occurred.

Submission of a Notice of Intent or application does not guarantee funding. All funding recommendations remain subject to program eligibility requirements, evaluation results, available funding, applicable approval processes, and, where required, approval by the Maryland Stadium Authority Board of Directors.
