Grant Programs Brand Guidelines & Requirements

Recipients of funding through the Youth & Amateur Sports Grant and Michael Erin Busch Fund and the Major Sports & Entertainment Events Fund are required to properly recognize the Maryland Sports Commission (Maryland Sports) and Maryland Stadium Authority (MSA) in accordance with their Grant Agreement.

Required Logo Usage

The Maryland Sports Commission and Maryland Stadium Authority logos must be displayed together in all applicable representations associated with the grant-funded event or activity.

Only the Maryland Sports Commission and Maryland Stadium Authority logos satisfy these grant recognition requirements.

Maryland State agency logos are not acceptable substitutes and do not satisfy the Grant Guidelines or Grant Agreement.

Limited-Space Use

When available space does not reasonably allow the Maryland Sports and MSA logos to be displayed separately, recipients may use the approved combined Maryland Sports / Maryland Stadium Authority mark.

The approved combined mark and examples of its use are included in the Brand Use Guidelines under “Displays for Limited Space.”

Download Approved Logos

All approved logo files are available in the Maryland Sports Grant Program Files Dropbox folder. The files are organized into three folders to help you select the correct logo for your application:

  • Maryland Sports Commission Logos — approved Maryland Sports Commission logo files
  • Maryland Stadium Authority Logos — approved MSA logo files
  • Maryland Sports Commission – Division of MSA Logos — approved combined marks for situations where limited space does not allow the Maryland Sports and MSA logos to be displayed separately

For standard applications, the Maryland Sports Commission and Maryland Stadium Authority logos must be displayed together. Use the combined Maryland Sports Commission – Division of MSA mark only when space is limited, as outlined in the Grant Brand Use Guidelines.

Always use the official files provided by Maryland Sports. Do not recreate, alter, stretch, recolor, or substitute the approved marks.

Approved Logo Treatments

Approved logo files are available for use on light, gray and dark backgrounds, as illustrated in the Brand Use Guidelines.

One-color versions may also be used, but only in the approved official Maryland Sports Commission colors identified in the guidelines.

Before Producing Materials

Grant recipients are responsible for ensuring that the required logos are used correctly on applicable materials and representations.

If you have questions about placement, sizing, background treatment, or whether a proposed use satisfies the Grant Agreement, contact your Grant Manager before materials are produced or published.

Radio, Television & Special Applications

Special applications may require different recognition guidelines. For uses such as radio or television commercials or reads approximately 10–15 seconds in length, contact Maryland Sports for appropriate use requirements before production.
