Maryland’s Own Monday: Corrigan Sports Enterprises

Based out of Howard County, Corrigan Sports Enterprises creates, manages and hosts sports and event marketing opportunities throughout the United States, 26 years and counting.

Since its birth in 1991, Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE) has grown into one of the strongest marketing organizations in the area, managing and implementing events anywhere from 5ks and marathons to basketball, lacrosse, field hockey, golf and volleyball tournaments as well as play days in their realm. Although CSE is based out of the Baltimore area, their events are known throughout the country, working hand-in-hand with other sport marketing organizations to boost other events nationwide.

Throughout their growth as a company, CSE has formed a partnership with the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), which has landed Corrigan Sports four of the largest girls high school recruiting tournaments in the nation. They also assist in managing the Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Game for male and female high school seniors nominated throughout the country to showcase their finesse at Johns Hopkins University.

One of CSE’s marquee events is the Baltimore Running Festival. The Baltimore Running Festival consists of a 5k run, half marathon and a full marathon, with team relay races as well. CSE did an exceptional job targeting their expanded audience, creating runs of all lengths to accommodate any and all. The Festival occurred two weekends ago and was a great success, especially with the new finish line ending in the historic and iconic downtown Inner Harbor of Baltimore. Lee Corrigan, President of Corrigan Sports Enterprises, said, “It was a fantastic weekend for Baltimore. Changing the finish line to the Inner Harbor to showcase Charm City’s crowned jewel was a big success. Our runners and fans loved it.”

The Baltimore Running Festival field (marathon, half marathon, team relay, and 5K distance combined) for this year served roughly 23,000 participants with all 50 states represented as well as 34 foreign countries this year. CSE raised more than $1 million for local charities with an estimated economic impact of $40 million.
